Renowned British fashion house Alexander McQueen released three images of their A/W 14 campaign via the @WorldMcQueen instagram and it is visually stunning. Shot by Steve Klein, who also shot McQueens previous advertorial shoots featuring Kate Moss, the images depict a Medieval Queen who has turned to the dark side. Edie Campbell, British Model who has previously graced the cover of Vogue sporting a geometric mod-esque hair cut and graphic eye, has been given a McQueen makeover adorned by the historically inspired AW collection that has a strong Game of Thrones vibe.
Incredibly dark and gothic, the images are striking. Set on a regal backdrop, featuring a throne, armour and a horse, the campaign is true to the AW 14 collection shown back in February which was incredibly pagan and medieval inspired with pentagrams embroidered into the fabrics, which were mainly black or white with gold accents. Heavy embellishments, fur and feathers completed the historical referencing in this opulent collection.
This Alexander McQueen campaign shot by Klein will be running in print as of September.
