Not one to stray from my now trademark cat eye liner and red lip look, beauty trend spotting is something that I tend to do from a distance. While the beauty industry really interests me, having worked in several different beauty environment, I can appreciate the makeup and hair trends seen each season, however I usually don't indulge in a new season beauty binge.
However, every so often arises a beauty trend that I can incorporate into my own makeup routine. For Spring / Summer 14 that look is the graphic eye, as showcased on models in London at the Roksanda Ilinic show.

Based on my beloved cat eye, Roksanda modernised this classic beauty look by giving it a graphic make over, although it also echoes the sixties eye makeup too. This strong eye look really stood out amongst the other softer pastel 'pretty' beauty looks.

Like my previous beauty post, when I tried out Black Lips A La Mark Fast S/S 14, I too gave this graphic eye a go. Whereas previously, the lips were the focus, this time the eyes did the talking.
Being without red lipstick was a little strange for me, I felt almost naked! However I think a nude lip is essentail for this look, so the focus is completely on the eyes so I patted on M.A.C in 'Fleshpot'. For the eyes, I used a Rimmel London soft kohl black eye liner to draw the basic shape, then blended with a M.A.C 219 brush to soften it slightly. The shape of each of my eyes is slightly different so I had to adjust to this by altering the shape of each liner. Overall I really like this eye look, however found it smudged quickly, resulting in it resembling a normal smokey eye.
This look is a great way to keep on trend beauty-wise without having to change your own routine or comfortable beauty look but still make an impact.
